OPMS March 2017 New Version Release

Over the last 2 months, we have been working busily on OPMS version 6.4, bringing to you a total of 102 improvements and new features. The new version is getting rolled out as we speak. Our focus has been on improving OPMS mail merge functions, rolling out our online employment application form and improving travel functions. I’ve described these new features in a bit more detail below. In addition, we have the pleasure to announce a new client and a new team member!

A warm welcome Pacific Tug!
Pacific Tug signed up to use OPMS at the beginning of March, three weeks later, the system has been set up, data imports completed and the users are logging in. We are looking forward to working with this very friendly and proactive team of maritime professionals.

Welcome to the OPMS team, Liam Wilburn!
Liam joined our team of software developers about a month ago. We have already thrown some complex projects at him and haven’t scared him off! He has taken owership of a few projects that will be brought to you in the next version. Watch this space!

We will be demoing the changes to all clients over the next few weeks. A brief overview of the functions in spotlight is below.

We have launched a new Online Employment Application module within the OPMS Web Portal package. 100% of the data gathered in this simple, mobile friendly electronic form is imported to OPMS. Once applicants submit their details, they can log in and provide updates. OPMS users see the applicants being imported to the verification bay, each candidate has the CV displayed in the middle of the screen for a quick overview. Once verified, the candidates are imported to OPMS database. Ideally, this will completely eliminate the need to manually create profiles in OPMS.

Travel functions are a key part of OPMS’s roster functionality. The details can be entered to the roster screen or imported from third party systems. In this version of OPMS, the travel functions have been fully reviewed. The user interface has been renewed with more data immediately visible. The third party imports and custom exports have become more flexible. We have more great changes planned in this module, especially relating to sending itineraries to employees and displaying the details in Web Portal. Coming soon…

OPMS users have enjoyed producing work agreements, CV’s, customs letters and other Word documents from OPMS for quite some time now. In this version the letters became easier to manage, faster to generate with more merge fields available. This takes our mail merge function to another level as every company can add any number of letters to the system without our involvement.
